Training that is professional and practical
Faiers Training is owned and run by Nigel Faiers. Nigel has more than thirty five years experience in the care & support sector including twenty plus delivering training and consultancy.
After fifteen years managing care and supported housing, including eight years at a senior management level, Nigel launched Faiers Training in 2003. Faiers Training offers training and consultancy to the housing, social care and healthcare sectors. Nigel also served for nine years on a National Housing Association’s Management Board and chaired their Housing Management Committee.
Nigel is a qualified trainer (including PTLLS and CTLLS) and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. Nigel has delivered training courses across England & Scotland both for Faiers Training and on behalf of other organisations including the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and Herts Care Providers Association (HCPA). HCPA members are eligible to claim funding towards the cost of many of our courses.
Faiers Training also works with a select band of specialist trainers. We only however use people regarded as experts in their field and who have a proven track record delivering training. We never engage people to train from a script.
Course organisation and cost
- Face to face courses best suit a group of between six and sixteen participants for the majority of our subjects excluding Moving and Handling People, Emergency First Aid and I.T., where we recommend smaller groups.
- Our one day face to face courses last approximately seven hours including a short lunch break. Half day courses last for three hours.
- Our daily rate for face to face training is the same whether you require a one day course or two half day courses.
- Zoom courses can usually accommodate up to twenty delegates for the same fee, with the exception of I.T. We recommend splitting one day courses delivered via Zoom over two mornings or afternoons (three hours each) on dates that suit you, but we still only charge the standard one day rate.
- Our prices for all training (face to face or via Zoom) include all preparation to tailor the course to your needs, plus handouts and certificates for each delegate. No VAT is added.
- Faiers Training work closely with the client to ensure that the course reflects your organisation’s environment and ways of working. We also refer to any relevant policies and procedures you have in place.
- It is possible to book one or more places on any of our open courses. This is often beneficial for organisations with a very small staff team or only requiring training for new starters. Where you have sufficient numbers to book your own session face to face or via Zoom, savings will be possible.
